Abortion clinics

These standards include that abortion doctors have admitting privileges to local hospitals, that the clinics have halls and corridors wide enough to accommodate a gurney in case of complications, that a certain number of soap dispensers be available and that surgical equipment used in abortions be sanitized. These are basic standards required even for veterinary clinics.Womenâs groups should not only support those standards, but they should insist on them.By the way, when the law in Texas was enacted, half of the abortion clinics in Texas shut down because they could not comply with those basic requirements. Stand up, women, and fight for our rights!Wendy Linkswiler, PlantationRelated contentLinkedInGoogle+PinterestRedditPrintOrder Reprint of this StoryLetters to the EditorCommentsVideosfacebook twitter email Share More Videos Firefighter paramedics recall the horror of the Pulse nightclub shooting Community marks 10th anniversary of killing of 9-year-old Sherdavia Jenkins in Miami's Liberty City Loretta Lynch on Clinton meeting: 'I certainly wouldn't do it again' Innocents Lost - A Miami Herald I-Team Investigation Keep your eyes on fireworks safety Auroras caught on Hubble lighting up Jupiter Miami-Dade Commissioner José 'Pepe' Diaz says county is ready to help Sweetwater navigate financial crisis Dog that dodged death, goes home with officer who saved her Alligator climbs fence at Fort Myers golf course Donald Trump is too unbelievable for The West Wing Share Video 5 hours ago Characters come out for Florida Supercon 5 hours agoCharacters come out for Florida Supercon a day agoMiami Marlins manager Don Mattingly discusses the 9-1 loss to Atlanta Braves a day agoFirefighter paramedics recall the horror of the Pulse nightclub shootingView more videoLetters to the EditorBoaters should protect manateesPreserve Biscayne National Park assetsMission United empowers veteransZika legislationAdvance warningEditor's Choice VideosSubscriptionsDigital SubscriptionsDigital EditionHome DeliveryVacation HoldReport a Delivery ErrorMiami Herald RewardsSite InformationCustomer ServiceAbout UsContact UsNewsMedia in EducationPublic Insight NetworkReader PanelSocial, Mobile & MoreFacebookTwitterGoogle+Mobile Apps & eReadersMobile AlertsNewslettersAdvertisingPlace a ClassifiedMedia KitCommercial PrintingPublic NoticesFind&Save Local ShoppingCopyrightCommenting PolicyPrivacy PolicyTerms of ServiceSubscriptionsDigital SubscriptionsDigital EditionHome DeliveryVacation HoldReport a Delivery ErrorMiami Herald RewardsSite InformationCustomer ServiceAbout UsContact UsNewsMedia in EducationPublic Insight NetworkReader PanelSocial, Mobile & MoreFacebookTwitterGoogle+Mobile Apps & eReadersMobile AlertsNewslettersAdvertisingPlace a ClassifiedMedia KitCommercial PrintingPublic NoticesFind&Save Local ShoppingCopyrightCommenting PolicyPrivacy PolicyTerms of Service
