Christian abortion doctor from Alabama makes 'A Moral Argument for Choice'

Over time, his Christian faith and his approach to medicine changed until both led him down the path to becoming one of just a few abortion doctors in the South.Parker has returned to his hometown, and on April 4, releases his first book, Life's Work: A Moral Argument for Choice. Recently Parker spoke about his life and his journey - which has been condensed in the following conversation.Q: In the book, you describe your childhood. You lived in poverty, and yet you didn't really describe your childhood as hard. Were there hard parts?Parker: We lived in poverty, but I didn't really feel like I was poor. My friends whose parents, especially their fathers worked in the coal mines or the steel plant, they were more middle class and had more materially. But it was a community where everybody sort of took care of each other.
